  • Disease Control Operatives - Helen Grogan - March 2011

    Dates: There are 4 dates provisionally booked for this training as follows: 11th March, 14th March, 21st March & 29th March.
    Venues: Cavan/Monaghan/ midlands/Tipperary.
    Cost: free-subsidised by CMP

  • Picker Training - February 2011

    CMP would like all members to avail of picker training. This will improve yields and quality significantly. This training needs to lead to FETAC Certification to be an eligible cost in our Operational Programme. To encourage participation, CMP will subsidise the cost of this training.

  • Heat Recovery and Biomass Boilers

    Any grower interested in looking at the heat recovery units and wood pellet boiler at Cathal Reillys farm in Cavan is invited to a presentation in the Kilmore Hotel followed by a farm walk on the farm on Monday 28th February 2011.

  • Train the Trainer - March 2011

    Due to staff changes on units, there is a growing demand to run another course in 'Train the Trainer'. About 10 people are required to run a successful 2 day course. Please contact Tom Kellegher to book staff onto this course. Date and venue will be decided based on expressions of interest.

  • Additional Technical Support - March 2011

    Following requests from growers for additional technical support, the executive have decided to retain the services of Brendan Burns and Martin Doyle to assist growers. Brendan will be available to growers 2 days per week and Martin 3 days per week from the beginning of May. Visits will be coordinated by Tom Kellegher.

  • Forecasting Assist for Growers - March 2011

    A pilot programme for forecasting mushroom production has been introduced to the brown growers. If this proves useful and successful, it will be made available to all growers.

  • Summer Schedule - March 2011

    CMP have been in touch with growers re summer compost fills. You will be notified shortly of the agreed programme. Brown growers have already been notified.

  • Mushroom Packing at Newgrove - March 2011

    Our packhouse is now in full production with one of three prepacking lines now fully operational. We have a Tesco visit on the 6th April, after which we hope to be approved as a Tesco packhouse.

  • Area Meetings 2011 - April 2011

    Three area meetings are planned as follows:
    11th April 2011 – Horse & Jockey, Tipperary
    13th April 2011 – Kilmore Hotel, Cavan
    Each meeting will begin at 4.00pm sharp.

  • AGWJLC - Wage Increase Deferral - November 2010

    Following a number of meetings of this committee, a wage increase deferral has also being negotiated. This is due to be ratified by the Labour Court in December and will mean the rate will remain at €9.10 per hour until June 2011 at least and pending further discussions, possibly until December 2011.

  • FETAC Picker Training - October 2010

    Over the next 12 months, CMP will be driving this training at farm level with the objective of getting all mushroom harvesters trained over the next couple of years.
